Jamie Forrester scored the first Leeds goal in the seventh minute from a twenty-two yard free-kick, after he had been brought down. Alan O'Shea got the second from close range after Chris Fairclough had headed on a Matthew Smithard corner. Paul Pettinger kept a clean sheet, pulling off several fine saves. United rang the changes at Half-Time as Alan O'Shea came on for Jamie Marks at Right Back, Andy Gray replaced Ian Harte at Left Back, Paul Wharton replaced Jason Blunt at Outside Right and Jimmy Moody came on for Andy Brown at Centre Forward. Lawrence Davis replaced Andy Gray after seventy-three minutes and two minutes later Nathan Lowndes replaced Paul Wharton at Outside Right and Matthew Brown replaced Jimmy Moody at Centre Forward. With nine minutes to go P. O'Shea replaced Paul Pettinger in goal.
